love is patient.....

love is patient....love is kind....sometimes i have so much trouble with the patient part & that leads to trouble with the kind part...it happens when i'm tired...& grumpy...& overwhelmed...& confused...& pulled in too many directions...and i have to keep saying to myself...love is patient, love is kind....love is patient, love is kind...i want to be patient...i want to be kind... i want to enjoy...

but it gets so hard, especially when there is too much coughting...& laundry overflowing...& kids squabbling...& clutter...& a broken stove...& legos dumped on the floor right after you just cleaned them up....& a whining dog..& too many bills...& not enough money...& piles of papers...& things that got forgotten...& stuff that needs to be done...& not enough energy...it is then that i get impatient, and can be unkind...it is not very enjoyable....

but then...always...God shines His Grace on me....He does it with a little girl with a valentine hidden behind her back...or a little boy who needs an extra hug...or a husband who does all of the dishes even though he had a horrible commute & a 12 hour workday...or a baby that snuggles in the crook of my neck...or by an e-mail sent by a friend that reads:

I see you my child.

Come and sit with me a while, there is something I want to tell you.

Let's find a quiet spot, just you and Me.

I know all that is on your mind and all you want to do.

I know all the people who need you.

If you will just spend a few minutes with Me - a few minutes to stop thinking,

a few minutes to stop doing and just listen.

I want to tell you how very special you are to Me.

You are MY precious creation and I know you by name.

I knit you together.

I gave you your beautiful eyes and your fun laugh.

I chose the color of your hair and gave you your lovely smile.

I chose your special gifts and blessed you with your many talents.

I held you in my hands and carefully wove you to be just as you are.

I don't make mistakes.

I started your hear beating.  I breathed life into your lungs.

I have never left you.  I never will.

I know you.

I know you even better than you know yourself.

I know how many hairs are on your head.

I see your hopes and I see your fears and I understand them all.

I know where you have come from and where you have been.

I know your areas of struggle.

I know what you are capable of both good and bad,

I know hwo you are inside and out, through and through.

I see all that is behind you and all that is ahead.

I see the challenges you face and how you will continue to grow.

I will never love you less and I could never love you more.

My love for you will stand firm forever.
