week 8....already!!!!....this week's prompt from emily was who or what do you miss?....
being the sentimental sap i am...i tend to miss lots of things...like our first truck...our bronco II...LOVED that truck & i remember feeling so sad when they came to take it away for donation...it even stalled 3 times on the way down the street to make the goodbye that much more difficult for me....
i miss my little neighborhood back in brooklyn...miss all my buddy shopkeepers....miss mama caputo's ravioli & foccacia....miss getting fresh french bread right from the oven at sahadi's and eating it all up on the way home....miss walking tucker down our tree lined streets...the way the city would be so quiet on a snowy morning....miss just sitting on the promenade and staring at manhattan across the river....miss walking over the brooklyn bridge whenever i felt like it....
but at this time of year...when spring is starting to really spring...i miss riding....getting out on an early saturday morning & meeting my buds at grant's tomb and riding to nyack for some blueberry muffins at the runcible spoon...lilly & i would just talk up a storm....we would talk @ everything....it was so much fun....i treasure those days...& maybe i'll tune up the ol' cannondale & hit the roads again soon...
since seeing ngaire's creations w/ kobi yamada's book she, i've been loving all of his quotes...the back of my card is one of my faves....
can't wait to see week 9! happy sunday - gi

What a wonderful journey you take me on every time I read your blog. WOW!! You grew up in a place that I can only imagine from tv shows!!! (but the funny thing is that the tv shows are NYPD Blue and Sesame Street LOL!!!). Thank you for taking me on the journey with you - I am inspired by people who are proud of where they grew up.
Love, P.
