thanks everyone for sending your kind words & hugs & prayers.
it was a tough weekend getting used to not having tuck around. although he wasn't extremely active in his older years, his absence is really felt.
& we really were so lucky to have him in our lives. i know you all would probably say this @ your own animal friend, & i'm completely biased...but Tucker was really the best. we are looking to open our hearts to another doggie buddy, but know that there will always be a special place there for Tuck...he really is irreplaceable.
& i got to thinking....
i have been wanting to do this for quite a while & this seems to be the perfect time. in order to try in just a itty bitty small way to pay forward all of the loyalty & love & tons of slobbery kisses over the years that Tucker gave us....i am going to do a RAK (random act of kindness) for all of you....
the RAK will include some of the new hambly, some kraft scenic route, some of my favorite bling & a couple of fun things that i've picked up along the way. i'll pick a name from the comments left on today's blog. so if you want to be included in the big sweepstakes (LOL!!), just leave me a comment & i'll choose a name on wednesday... & if you want to include a special memory of your special animal buddy, that would be cool too! :)
hope you all have the happiest of mondays!!!
xoxoxo gi
Aw, sweets. I can't even say i'm sorry enough.
he was lucky to have a mama like you.
and i hope you have a happy, happy monday with good memories of the sweet pup.

It really must be hard to lose a loved pet!!
I have two beautiful kitties (brothers) who I treat as if they are my children (yes, I talk to them as if they can respond).
I really am sorry for your loss, as I know I would be devastated if I lost my boys!
I hope you get another beautiful animal that your family can love!!
xx

Hi Gigi, I am glad to hear from you again. I wish you all the best and am very sorry for the loss of Tucker... I have a rabbit Gizmo, as you already know ;)
and he thinks that food rocks. Sometimes I bring food home from my work and put a yellow post-it note on my organizer, just to remind me when I go home. Gizmo is always searching for food in my bag, but couldn't find any. He ran by me, and the yellow post-it note was just stiching to his side saying: "bring food!" I really laughed, food rocks! LOL! Lots of love from me to you!

so sorry to hear about your sweet Tucker. I can't imagine what you're going thru...i've never had a pet (someday soon hopefully). You are very talented and i love checking your blog now (I only found you a couple of weeks ago!) Plus I was a Gigi growing up, but only family still refer to me as that! Have a great day!

I have been checking out your scrapbooking. Right now I am too chicken to create a blog or anythng like that. I enjoy reading your posts and your scrapbooking ideas. I do want to tell you your post yesterday and today hit home what the circle of life is about. I hope this finds comfort in your heart. I read your post shortly after I recieved word that the puppy my fiance and I were waiting for had finally arrived a few days early, so now we have a little bit of time to wait, but in a weird way I feel like the puppies I had growing up had to leave us, so that others could find the love and companionship that they provided us with. So I sure hope that our new little addition in a few weeks will show us the same love and friendship that Tucker did for you and your family.

I love my little pups. Nina & Pedro. They are chihuahuas so I thought they needed Spanish/Mexican names. So you can see my warped since of humor I will tell you a little more. Nina (I can put that ~ above the n) is "little girl." We had her first. Then we got a little boy chihuahua but I couldn't name him "Nino" because that would be too confusing for them. So I named him Pedro, aka "Peter." As in he has a little........
Lastly, You've been TAGGED!

Of course he's irreplaceable, and the emptiness left behind will always be there. But in time the wounds will heal. Not completely, there will always be a scar. So good luck with the emptiness your dog left in your heart. Hopefully all the love we all send you will help you eventually fill up the emptiness.
I lost my little dog after the birth of my oldest son. 'Radja' was so jealous of the baby. We tried everything but in the end I had to find a new home for her. Now, five year later, there are still moments that I miss her.
Love, es

Hey, Hon! I've been thinking about you all weekend. You know I care. Just praying your day and week will go well!
PS You don't have to include me in the drawing; you have already sent me such wonderful happy mail! Best wishes, girlie! Hugs to your precious children!

okay, i'll share a pet story...when i was in college my family got a kitten from a neighbor down the street. we named him trouble.
just like pavlov's dog with the stimulous and response thing, he learned that whenever we would open a cupboard door to get out a mug for hot tea he would get the paper wrap around the tea bag to play with.
open door. crumple tea bag paper. cat comes running.
i still to this day think of him when i crumple up my tea bag wrapper.
hope a new little puppy finds his/her way into your hearts and lives soon!

I would leave you a comment regradless of the RAK Gi. I truly feel for you. As you know Jas & I went through the same thing in February so I know what you are going through. What alot of people don't seem to realize & accept is our pets are TRULY MEMBERS OF OUR FAMILY! So, losing one is like losing a child. You care for it just as if. So, please know that you are not alone, that I definitely feel & understand your pain. Sending you a GB HUG!
Oh, a memory of my late Mia...this isn't really a specific incident as much as one of my favorite things that she used to do. She used to buck around and around and aoround in circles chasing her stub of a tail. She was the funniest, goofiest dog. I loved her SOOO MUCH!
Another memory of her...Jas' Mom had just got a new bleeding heart, LOVED it! Well...so did Mia. Out of the blue on day she went over and plopped down right in the middle of it. Just mangled it. Mom was SOOO MAD! Funny thing is, even though she mangled it, that bleeding heart is one of the most lush, beautiful & large that I have seen. I won't ever be able to look at that plant and not think of her. Jas planted a white one on top of her grave in memory of her.
I hope I didn't babble on too much.
Again, GB HUGS!
Take Care,
Amy

ok, so here is a story that includes you & me. i remember in our lamaze class that we shared pictures of our 1st children - tucker and calvin, people looked at us like - oh gosh those crazy dog people. i knew i liked you from that point on and so glad we reunited several months later. Picking a story about my dog - i couldn't pick just one story about calvin (springer spaniel) - one of the best dogs in the world but i can say he was such a big part of mine and steve's world and when we lost him at an early age of 4 it was one of the worst experiences i've been through. but i will always remember the great memories and joy he brought. we never replaced him but we know have Sullie (another springer) and well, he's one of my kids and i couldn't imagine our lives without him - sullie gives the best hugs!!!
ummmm??? did you say hambly?????????

So sorry for you and your family! I have never had a dog but my very first pet was a goldfish that I won at the church fair. You had to throw a ping pong ball into a small bowl in order to win. I was so excited to have my first pet. I named her Lynda after Lynda Carter, AKA Wonder Woman! She was my fav at the time! Sadly Lynda didn't last more than a week!

so sorry to hear this...my parents had to put our dog to sleep a few months ago...and it was a tough day for all of us! one of my favorite memories of him was that he slept on his back with all four legs in the air...it always made us laugh! blessings!

Sorry to read about your Tucker. Pets fill a special place in our lives and we are better people for having them around. Hugs.

oh gigi ...
i know i already said this, but they are more than just "pets".
they are part of our family,
sometimes our first "children".
just because they have 4 legs doesn't mean we love them anyless.
they will never be forgotten and they can never be replaced
but *we* are the lucky ones
for they have chosen us as their keepers
{{{ hugs & kisses }}}

Hey G-Bear,
So happy you're back and *big hugs*
I swear, 20 minutes ago a guy from the SPCA came to take a lost doggie from my backyard who has been hiding out all morning looking lost/hurt. I wanted to stop him and yell, "NO! I'LL KEEP HER!!!". So there are lots of doggies who would love to have your love. I went from house to house trying to find her family, and I'll definitely be calling to see if she's still there in a few days.
They capture your heart, those animals.
PS- Choose a pug! Then Stella could have an email pug buddy.

You know I love a RAK mate!!!
No stories of sad lost doggies here - but I am concerned about how we will cope when our beloved Ruby (my parents' dog) goes to heaven. I guess she will just have to hang out with Tucker - she can teach him how to round up a rugby ball!
Love, P.

I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved pet. I have lost 2 pets (cats) in my lifetime and now have 2- 9 1/2 year old cats. The thought of losing them is to terrible to think of, but I have so many stories and special moments with them I may actually create a little mini book now while everything is fresh in my mind. My thoughts are with you and yours.
