thanks everyone for sending your kind words & hugs & prayers.
it was a tough weekend getting used to not having tuck around. although he wasn't extremely active in his older years, his absence is really felt.
& we really were so lucky to have him in our lives. i know you all would probably say this @ your own animal friend, & i'm completely biased...but Tucker was really the best. we are looking to open our hearts to another doggie buddy, but know that there will always be a special place there for Tuck...he really is irreplaceable.
& i got to thinking....
i have been wanting to do this for quite a while & this seems to be the perfect time. in order to try in just a itty bitty small way to pay forward all of the loyalty & love & tons of slobbery kisses over the years that Tucker gave us....i am going to do a RAK (random act of kindness) for all of you....
the RAK will include some of the new hambly, some kraft scenic route, some of my favorite bling & a couple of fun things that i've picked up along the way. i'll pick a name from the comments left on today's blog. so if you want to be included in the big sweepstakes (LOL!!), just leave me a comment & i'll choose a name on wednesday... & if you want to include a special memory of your special animal buddy, that would be cool too! :)
hope you all have the happiest of mondays!!!

Hi, i am new to reading your blog (my friend Lee put me on to it). I was quite saddened to read about your loss, and it made me realise how precious our animals are. I have an 11 year old border collie who is starting to show her age and I know that my heart will break when she goes as she was my first "baby". I hope that you and your family can find a new puppy to love soon although nothing replaces that one that has left.
Kind wishes
Lyn

Hi G,
Im sorry for your loss. I cant imagine how it must feel! I do have a cat that is 17 years old and we know he's getting very old. But i dont want to think about it!
Im sure if you get another dog you'll love him just as much and tucker will always be in your hearts!

So sorry about your pup...I'm sure it's been tough for all of you. It's true that our doggie drives us nuts but I don't know what we'd do without him! He was a lucky pooch to be part of a wonderful family who loved him so much. And man was he cute...Take Care...

hi gorgeous..i hope you are coping ok. we had a family cat,Tibby, from when i was 3 til we had to put him down when i was 21..he had one eye closed from a stroke, kidney damage from too many years of dry food, hormone imbalance problems and all sorts of other things..he was raggedy looking but i loved that cat. Making the decision to let him go was so hard..i cried for 3 days straight..he was my constant companion..and i only realised after he was gone how much i took that for granted...

You're such a sweetheart :) MY dog Suzi is'nt officially my dog, she's Steve's(my partner)but she is so loyal to me that even he sais she's really mine now. Once when I went to work and Jess was home , she was awoken by what she thought was a baby crying. It was the dog, up on the couch howling because Mummy had left. She's terribly jealous of the cats and has been known to sit on kittens and try to suffocate them. If she does'nt want to hear you she'll bury her head in the nearest thing and show no response - selective deafness. She's very cute :) and I can't imagine her not being around. Again, so sorry for your loss.

Oh Gigi... sorry about Tucker's passing.
Its so sad when we lose a beloved pet.
I once had a black labradore named Nosey... he really was quite a Nosey little thing!!
He died when I was about 12 and it was heartbreaking.
Now we have a cat... her name is Paris {*I* did NOT name her btw}
Thinking of you...

:(
When my kitten (okay, my 14 year old cat) died when I was 15, I sat by it's little grave and cried every day for two straight months.

Hi, I always feel awkward about RAKs and never participate, but this time, well, why not. Plus it's a good chance to come out from lurking and say I read your blog, and I enjoy your work :)

Hello GiGi!
I'm very sorry about Mr. Tucker.. All of our pets, big and small, have a special spot in our family..especially our kids lives! They have 'domesticated' lots of wild kittens, and believe me, we get lots!!
Here's a story (or 2): My husband is not a cat man..and has a policy of 'no pets in the house', But, he has a wonderful big heart for our kids.. So, one day 2 years ago this June, they were out irrigating, and 'found' some kittens in a culvert. Our dd caught a cute little orange fluffy kitten..with double toes and stubby tail.. I came home to find a kitten in the house! The kids named him 'Teeny Tiny Tiger Toes'. Fast forward, he is huge! 42 lbs. and mostly a house kitty.. He has a roommate, Rose, another orange kitty, and 2 goldfish... One of the goldfish is 'pumpkin' who basically spends most his life upside down - some sort of swallowing air problem... Since he was a Christmas gift for our dd, the first time this happened we thought he was dead - and that we would have to call Santa again! Take care, savor the memories..

I found you through k8tykat today:):) We have a sweet boxer named Bree...I'm so sad for your loss. I completely believe that our sweet animals will be in heaven waiting for us - I'm anxiously awaiting seeing my three kitties again - Freddy, Juliet and Lexington. For now, we're content with three puppies - the aforementioned boxer and two pugs - Gammy and Yuki. Our daughter is allergic to cats so no sweet kitties for a while. Your RAK is a wonderful idea and a great way to honor Tucker's memory.
