this month i'm going to challenge myself....
my good friend, beth, chose DO as her word for 2008 & i've always been like....wow...THAT is a good one...
so this month i'm going to DO too :)
throughout october i've set a goal for myself to run 75 miles....
i remember nicole did it a while back, though i think she did 100 miles (yeah...she is awesome :)
maybe i'll go for that in november...but for now i'm shooting for 75...
i've had a love/hate relationship with running for so long...
i love it for its ease...its accesibility...its got a big bang for its buck....
i hate it for the focus it demands....the discipline....the strength of will....
but i keep thinking of yoda & his whole "do or do not...there is no try"
so i'm going to stop "trying" to fit running into my day & i'm just going to do it...
today i only had an hour while kate was in school so i got 4 down...
71 to go :)
do you have a challenge or a goal for october? if so maybe we can be challenge conquering buddies :)
have a happy thursday!!

"Do or do not...there is no try." I have always loved at Yoda line. Maybe I should try living by that philosophy a little more. Good luck on your 71 more miles! You can dooooo it!

gigi, i am so with you on the whole running thing!I train for my little 5k, and then do nothing again for months, i always find excuses not to go out and run. I need to take a leaf out of you and Yoda's book, LOL!!!!!

You go girl!
I am so lazy when it comes to running! I used to make my father write notes for me in HS so I wouldn't have to run!
My October DO is to win the rest of the FFL season out!

I love this idea and have been struggling with the willpower part. Thanks for the good running example - I'm motivated now.
