word up wednesday today over at onelittleword :)
& this one was extra special because the pencil lines crew joined us!!!
& karla's word choice this round is fantastic...i love it how a new word makes me look at it & examine its meaning in a whole new way...i never really thought much about the word "keep" before, but now that i have i've come to the conclusion that i really like it..."keep" is an active word...it requires action on your part, you've got to be involved & have that strength of will...that dedication...that drive to "keep" what it is you want to keep...or keep doing or striving for what you are heading towards...focus is demanded...staying steadfast through struggle will be required...
i like that...
makes me think about dory in finding nemo when she goes "just keep swimming...just keep swimming..." & i love that...
i love that notion of diving in & being active in the direction of my life...
not just let things happen TO me...
but actively greeting each day anew & striving to make it the best....
& yes, i am well aware that i make and will make many mistakes & come across lots of bumps along the way, but that is where that active "KEEP" comes into play...there are lots of distractions....
but if i keep my focus squarely on what is precious & important & good & true & fullfilling...then i'm headed in the right direction...& i just have to keep on course :)
geez this must be some coffee i'm drinking this morning...lol!!
so here is what i created for this round....
a little life lesson i wanted to make sure i included in my scrapbooks for my children...
something that i think is SO vitally important but can be so damn hard at times...
keep your heart wide open....even when you are tempted to close it up to keep it safe...don't...keep it wide open so you can let all that love that is out there for your taking come right in
hope you have a wonderful wednesday!!!
xoxoxo
gi
what a wonderful way to look at "keep"! because it would be so easy to see it as holding tightly to something in order to keep it. i love the idea of keeping your heart open, tho i agree it can really be hard sometimes.
your page is so inspiring and i adore the stitching. i am so jealous that you can do french knots!! i still have a piece of embroidery that my gramma tried to teach me on, oh, about 30 years ago. i may have to dig it out someday and put it on a page.
thanks for sharing:)

This is just beautiful Gi.
I love everything about it!
I still have your halloween layout here to be sent off. I keep looking at it and wish that I done something different with it. I left it until the last minute and then had to rush it and I am not as happy with it as I would like to be. Do you ever get like that with layouts? So I am putting off sending it...lol.
Would you be able to email your address - and I will post it off to you soon.
xx
PS: I love Dory too....hehe!

I had already done the OLW "Keep" LO using a sketch from Pink Sketches Week Nine. I was searching for another Word to match with the Pencil Lines Sketch for this week. I'd decided on the word "Create." I found your blog via the entry for "Create." Over the last few months I've started moving faster so now I'm trying to participate in Pencil Lines, OLW, Pink Sketches and 52 Sketches...52 Weeks Challenges. I'm combining OLW with one of those sketches. I've been a fan of OLW and Pencil Lines for just over a year. I'm excited about working on "Create" as your thoughts on the word has given me more to think about when thinking about such a wonderful word. Thank you, Kim

I love it! Those little bits of turquoise are the perfect touch! I'm so bummed that I missed out on the DT auditions for OLW. I simply ran out of time this month. But, if "Keep" is still up, I might have to participate. I have a pretty good idea of what I would like to do. ;0)
