a bit ago i was asked by the super sweet (& talented) penny to be guest designer for the story matters...
of course i jumped at the chance, since i LOVE this sort of thing...love these kind of challenges that get your wheels turning & help you to sit & record (artfully :) a personal or family story that may otherwise have just sat & been stuck in your head....i just think it is the coolest thing because i know how i love to find little bits of memories that my mother has saved (like all of my brother's & my punishment essays, or our little notes, or her notations in my baby book...)...i'm hoping my kids will have fun paging through my favorite moments and memories...
so anyway...the challenge this week is to record something you indulge in...immediately i thought pumpkin bread...lol
seriously...our family DEVOURS pumpkin bread...& especially if it is fresh from the oven...
luckily our recipe makes 2 loaves at a time...lol
hope you have a happy friday!!

you know, you are describing my family.
just insert 'banana bread' where your journaling says 'pumpkin bread'!!!!!!!!!
tooo funny - we also make two loaves at a time because the first loaf barely lives to a ripe old age of cooling off. sarah gets the end piece - that's her favorite.
in fact, this morning sarah made banana bread by herself for the first time (with me supervising, of course). we are making it for a special reason today, though. a little boy from sarah's school was just diagnosed with lukemia and our community is having a breakfast fundraiser tomorrow to help the family offset medical costs. so, in the spirit of the season, we are giving a special loaf of bread made with love to help.
here's to the smell of yummy things eminating from our kitchens this christmas season. :-)
