there was a new word up yesterday....living....
i really struggled with creating something this round...i've had a terrible cold the past week & it has been pretty annoying....so as the deadline approached, i started to throw a quick layout together w/ a silly title using "living" so that i could get it up before the launch...& it just wasn't me...& it just isn't how i feel about onelittleword either...
i enjoy working with the team & on this blog so much...each word brings a new opportunity to think, reflect & record something artistically & i really treasure that opportunity...& because i respect it so much, i really want to make sure the work that i post with every round, really represents my own reflection of that word...i just don't feel right "going through the motions" when it comes to creating art, especially for onelittleword...
so yesterday i kept thinking about what i wanted to create & finally came up with the little canvas above....i really like how it turned out...yesterday was such an icy gray day & i really was longing for a little spring...& when i think of "living" i immediately think of gardening for some reason...maybe it's because when i was little & one of our plants was not looking to good, my mom would search it over looking for any sign (no matter how teeny tiny) of green..."where there's green...there's life" she would say & we would try to nurse the little plant back to health...(i remember quoting this very thing back to her in december when things with my dad were looking pretty horrible...it was a comfort to both of us i know)...
so now i have a sweet little reminder on my new kitchen shelf...
a reminder of life...
a reminder to never stop growing or learning or reaching or striving or searching...
to always love...
to live life to it's fullest
& it also is a little reminder of my mom & her practical wisdom...
that makes me smile :)
gotta love what a little ribbon, paper & paint can bring to a chilly, gray wednesday...
have a happy day!
xoxo
