new tari talk!!

the march tari talk is up!  so much inspiration....
my favorite features this month are the new free digi download...SO cute!!!

rachel's tutorial for her super gorgeous tissue paper flowers....oooh these are going to be all over my stuff coming up...i LOVE them!!

& the cutest interview with the extremely talented ruby bison....she is so sweet!!  oh to be 14 & crazy talented like she is...her vibrant outlook is so refreshing!  & if you've never been to her blog & seen her art journaling...GO!!!  GO!!! GO!!!!!!!!!!!!  i just watched one of her art journaling videos & omgosh...SO fantastic!!!!!  she reminds us all that this is such a wonderful hobby & we need to just let go & PLAY!!! 

& here is my sketch layout for the month...i love that girl friday line from cosmo cricket...

we've got a rainy day here in NY...perfect for me to get some creative time in...this past week has been a doozy :)

art journaling...

i'll be the first to admit that i have trouble with art journaling...i tend to put too many parameters on myself rather than just letting it go & having fun toying with techniques & exploring color...i think i get frustrated too easily & have not seen the big picture that this is supposed to be a process, constant exploring of art & having fun...my pages aren't supposed to be perfect...they are a work in progress...i think i'm finally starting to get the message :)

& that is completely due to my taking dina's art journaling 102 class...

it is tremendous...really REALLY fabulous...dina has such a wonderful way of teaching...her outlook has really inspired me to finally let it go & give it a try...& i'm trying...still have to tell myself every once in a while that "no worries!  this is experimenting here!!  just have fun!"

also in a flurry of spray ink this morning...i created my answer to Q11 for my Q & A journal...emily's prompt this week was "what keeps you up at night?"...chose to keep my journaling hidden in a little pocket this time around...

meet oscar...& some more kr :)

the newest addition to the kennedy clan...oscar...
he is a total dufus..has stumbled down the stairs & tripped over his head...must be those big paws..or big ears...or big, long tail (which as the owners of boxers, we are SO not used to!  lol!!)...but he is super sweet & soft & is fitting right in :)

& here are some more of my kenner road projects for this month...
(the first 2 were totally inspired by the fabulous debee campos & her re-purposing packaging project...let me tell you...these are SO fun to make!  no packaging is safe from me now!!  lol!!)

i modgepodged strips of cut patterned paper & vintage book pages on the star...i was about to toss it in the garbage but jessi convinced me not to...thank goodness b/c once the modge podge dried i really liked it..lol!  so take note...don't make any rash decisions when modge podge is wet...lol :)

so this was definitely fun...

the collector & lovely vintage kits from kenner road...have i mentioned how much FUN these were/are???  so psyched that i've got SO much left because i can create with these colors & patterns forever & ever...& i can't wait to do ker's bobbin collage thingys...they are my absolute favorite in the gallery this month

so anyway...i created a book to hold all of my "52 questions"....absolutely love how it turned out...

i'm really really excited about this new "art journal journey" that emily is doing this year....i had done 1/2 of the deck of me promts back in 2007 & really enjoyed them...so i'm really looking forward to a whole new set of promts...they really are such a great creative jump start

i'll share some more of my march kr projects tomorrow...AND some pictures of our new doggie, Oscar!!  he is so cute & such a knucklehead...he & Ryatt are actually getting along & having fun together...in fact, Ryatt is really coming out of his shell now...hurrah!!!

this month i also got to play with the "lovely vintage" add on...oooooh this is fun!!!  the colors are gorgeous & just what i needed...seriously having fun with this kit...

new word up over at onelittleword today :)
& it's my turn this round....

so i chose a word i've been thinking a lot about lately...REAL

i think i'm finally starting to get it...finally figuring out that so much i see & read is really B.S. & that is just the way it's going to be...i just have to make sure that i don't get sucked in to the spitting contest & beating myself up because i'm not measuring up somehow...because i think it is a slippery slope & before you know it, you've got a whole alter ego that bears no resemblance to reality....& honestly, what the heck is that worth?? 

 so my message to me today is:  just be...the real me shines pretty darn good all by itself :)

 

& the real story behind those photos:  we went to the park on saturday w/ the kids...i brought the camera & took lots of photos of the kids & mike...i've been so lax about that lately...but anyway, it was time to leave & mike took the camera...i was walking, holding kate b/c she hurt herself on the swing & mike snapped a few of me...right after these photos were taken kate peed on me....

yep....she had an accident and peed ON me...

totally glamorous right???  LOL!!!

p.s...purple onion stamps was so generous to the creative team at OLW & is sponsoring us this round...on my layout i used their skiny dip alphabet and their deluxe labels...such great stamps!!  happy creating!!

yikes! where did the week go!!

this week went by in a blink! 

i've been working on my technique online class for tarisota this month...
here's a little peek of one of the projects...there are 3 in the class (2 layouts & one mini book)

i'm using gorgeous papers from the basic grey porcelain collection for the projects & it is so pretty...such gorgeous spring colors...
