new word up over at onelittleword today :)
& it's my turn this round....
so i chose a word i've been thinking a lot about lately...REAL
i think i'm finally starting to get it...finally figuring out that so much i see & read is really B.S. & that is just the way it's going to be...i just have to make sure that i don't get sucked in to the spitting contest & beating myself up because i'm not measuring up somehow...because i think it is a slippery slope & before you know it, you've got a whole alter ego that bears no resemblance to reality....& honestly, what the heck is that worth??
so my message to me today is: just be...the real me shines pretty darn good all by itself :)
& the real story behind those photos: we went to the park on saturday w/ the kids...i brought the camera & took lots of photos of the kids & mike...i've been so lax about that lately...but anyway, it was time to leave & mike took the camera...i was walking, holding kate b/c she hurt herself on the swing & mike snapped a few of me...right after these photos were taken kate peed on me....
yep....she had an accident and peed ON me...
totally glamorous right??? LOL!!!
happy wednesday!!
xoxo
gi
p.s...purple onion stamps was so generous to the creative team at OLW & is sponsoring us this round...on my layout i used their skiny dip alphabet and their deluxe labels...such great stamps!! happy creating!!

That's true blue motherhood right there, glamor and all...he he he.
I so hear you on the 'staying in my own lane" thing. I make myself so miserable and then eventually I realize it's totally not me and I should stop trying to measure up to someone else's ideal, and become much happier, and then eventually, I fall back into the same trap again. Drives me nuts! Glad I'm not alone in that. :)
Your page is gorgeous, as usual. The way you mix stuff together never ceases to inspire me.
(P.S. The kids are totally jamming to your playlist right now. I always knew you had good taste! :) )

So, I just wanted you to know that you inspired me with everythign at OLW jsut now, that I dropped what I was doing and ran into my scrap room. here is what I left you at OLW:
Gi, I love your words, so well said and that video made me go "WOW". And then had my boyfriend asking me, "What?"...so, then we started talking about how bad it was for me back when i was young and for all young girls that try to live up to or compare themselves to these images plastered on the fronts of magazines. Such a great word, such a great challenge!
We talked more in depth and I started to tell you that, too..but, that is when I thought..I NEED TO SCRAP THIS! I NEED TO RECORD THIS...SO I AM GONNA! LOL
So, thanks! ;P

I love this! And I totally know what you mean about "real" and you've nailed it right on top of the head. Thanks for the inspiration...

What a powerful words of inspiration you shared with all of us on OLW. They REALLY inspire me. It's so true, that lots of people are shallow, compare themselves to a not-realistic world and feel they can never meet those goals (lousy English I know, but you get the point I guess...) I don't want to be shallow either. Thanks for another reminder, thanks for being so inspirational to me. Love how you expressed your feelings on your OLW layout (and sorry you got peed on, although I had to giggle a bit when I read it).
