gosh i love our little town...it has been a big adjustment from living in the city...but on days like Memorial Day, i really appreciate how wonderful where we live really is...
this weekend we REALLY enjoyed our little neck of the woods...a great start to our summer...
and a big highlight from the weekend was Monday when kelly & i marched in monday's Memorial Day parade with her brownie troop...SO fun...& really inspiring actually....
our hometown veterans begin the parade...and as they march by, the entire community stands & cheers their heads off along the sides of the street...guys take off their caps, the older vets stand & salute...seriously it is a sight to see...it is AWESOME actually...really makes me proud

there's a new word up over at onelittleword today :)
& this round is lynn's turn & she's chosen REFLECT....oooh a good one!
last year patty came up with awesome concept called "sum up summer"...each week during the summer she did a layout that would record in photos & in words what occurred that past week...it was concise, it was consistent & it was totally doable...i totally played along by doing posts each week on my blog & i LOVED it...but this year i really wanted something tangible that would hold these stories...
summer with the kids is jam packed & it seems to just whiz by so at the end i'm always like "what the heck did we do all summer???"...so this round i chose to create this journal which will be a home for my summer weekly wrap ups...& it is perfect timing since summer "unofficially" starts this weekend...
as you can tell....i'm still deep in my kenner road may kits for this month....love 'em :)
& because i couldn't bear to use up my cabinet card chipboard piece (i've got another idea for it), i traced it before sewing it on here...now i've got 2 of them...actually i guess it is really endless how many i can make now, huh? yay!!!

here's what i've accomplished thus far...& i've got 1 layout working on the desk & 2 mini books in the works too...PLUS a class project (we'll talk more about this next week...free class, june 3rd, kr blog :)..
yeah...have i mentioned i LOVED this month's kits??? lol

i'm in scrappy heaven right now...
i've got kenner road's may kits (& i got the add ons too this month...omgosh...WOW!!!!) laid out on my craft desk & i've been scrap scrap scrapping away since sunday night...LOVE this month's kits!!! the colors are so fun & there are so many new products packed inside...i can't create fast enough!!! there are so many goodies...so fun...
like i said...scrappy heaven...

you know it's funny...when i started this layout i kinda was like "hmm....what the heck DO i think?"...there were some things that came to mind that i had previously held so strongly...but i think maybe i've softened in my old age...lol...i've also learned a thing or 2 about a thing or 2...and also i think it's a result of the fact that i'm not afraid to question myself & challenge myself to really think about WHY i think or believe something...imaybe motherhood has had it's effect?
in any event, i found myself coming back to some things (some trivial & some not)...my 2 cents for today :)
so i hope you'll join in!
